No, only families that are currently enrolled are considered returning families.

No, our waitlists are only for the current (2024-2025) school year. If your child(ren) is/are still on the waitlist this year, you will need to submit a new student request for care for the 2025-2026 school year.

No, your child is considered a New Student.  Please complete a "Interest Form" to be included in our New Student lottery.

If families enroll throughout the school year the will be notified, by email,  as spots are available. Out of district families will be contacted in August, if spaces are available.

You will need the following documents:

• Birth certificate or passport
• Medically certified immunizations
• Proof of residency (e.g. utility bill, lease agreement, mortgage statement, property tax statement)
• Completed Contract & other online forms 
• Autowithdrawal form & voided check

For the upcoming school year (2024-2025), children that have turned 3 or 4, but not yet turned 5, by August 31, 2024.

Families that live within the Shoreline School District boundaries, Shoreline or Lake Forest Park residents.  Students of staff members that live out of the district are also considered in-district students, for priority status, not for tuition rates.

No, in following the Edwin PRatt Early Learning Mission and Vision, Edwin Pratt ELC serves students who are 3 by August 31, 2023 and who have not yet turned 5 by August 31, 2023.

We encourage families to be well on their way to being completely potty trained before enrolling. We understand that accidents happen and staff will give verbal guidance to students to help if needed. If your child has an accident and cannot change & clean themselves, with verbal cues, you may be asked to come in and assist them. 

Out of district students are eligible to enroll in our tuition program in August if there are available spots at an increased monthly rate.  Out of district students are not eligible to receive Special Education Services at Edwin Pratt or enroll in the Head Start or ECEAP program.

We are not able to give priority enrollment to out of district families.  You will need to enter our out of district lottery, which takes place in August.

Our staff to student ratio is 1:10, with no more than 20 students in a classroom.

Yes, in our half-day classes, one snack is provided. In our school day classes, breakfast, lunch, & afternoon snacks are provided.  Menus meet all USDA guidelines for childcare centers. 

Our Nurse & Food and Nutrition Services will work with you and your medical provider to create a menu that meets your child’s health needs and provide supplemental items if needed, in very rare instances families can provide their own food.

Our staff work hard to balance our classroom ages, genders, and needs. So, while we are happy to take into consideration your preferences we cannot guarantee placement with a specific teacher.  

You are not required to bring your child everyday.  We do encourage families to choose a schedule where they can attend regularly as students learn best with a consistent schedule.

Mixed age classrooms in early learning are considered best practice for a number of reasons, including:

• Teachers, with parents, focus on understanding and supporting each child’s unique development, building community and reducing competition and comparison
• Children’s social and emotional development is strengthened, which is key to future learning
• Children may remain with the same teacher and many of their friends for 2 years

No. In order to serve as many students as possible, children can only be enrolled in one session at a time. If families want more hours than a half day for their student, they have the option of the full day classes.

We have several options here at Edwin Pratt Early Learning:

• ½ Day Program: M/T/TH/F 9:00am - 12:00pm or 12:45pm - 3:45pm
• School Day Program: M-F 9:00am-3:00pm or 9:15am - 3:15pm or 9:45am-3:45pm

We follow the Shoreline School District Calendar for breaks & holidays.

At this time we do not offer any discounts for siblings.

Yes, there is both an annual registration fee of $100/child and annual material fee of $100/child that are non-refundable.

We schedule tours for prospective families once spots become available. Due to the high volume of requests we get for tours, we are unable to provide tours for families prior to a potential spot becoming available.
